Q: How do I get my listing to show higher on the page?
A: There are three ways.
Q: How does improving my listing info make my listing show higher?
A: We rank free and paid listings according to a score, reflecting how large, reputable and helpful the site seems to be. If you give us more complete or updated information, it may raise your ranking quite a bit.
Things that influence listing order on Buyer's Index:
Q: How do I revise my listing?
A: Email us at
or use our Listing Revision Form
Q: How does linking to Buyer's Index improve my listing position?
A: Every week, we automatically adjust your listing score, based on how many visitors you sent to Buyer's Index. The system is designed to uprank your listing until we are sending you as many visitors as you are sending us. Just add a coded link to your site. No need to register. See Link to Buyer's Index From My Web Site for details.
Q: Why don't you put the listings in alphabetical order?
A: You can find a specific company by entering its name as a search. That's easier than scrolling through a alphabetized list. Also, we don't think that "@@*_AAAAAndy's Bookstore" is any more useful than listings that start with other letters.
Q: If I get a preferred listing, how close to the top will it be?
A: On category pages, preferred listings all show in a block at the top, ranked by the same scoring method (described above) that governs free listings. In search results, preferred listings usually show at the top, unless there is a weak match (for example if somebody searches archery products and your preferred listing mentions perfume products).
